The Conference, launched in 2009, aims to strengthen collaboration between public administrations and the scientific community working on biodiversity information. It provides an informal forum to share projects and methods, reduce duplicated efforts, and promote data sharing and integration across institutions. GBIF plays a key role in this context, aligned with its mission to make biodiversity data globally accessible.
This edition’s main themes:
- Applications of AI and data science
- Compatibility of energy and communication infrastructures with biodiversity (fauna impact monitoring)
- Collaboration among administrations, the third sector, and researchers
Our team member Francisco Pando (GBIF Spain) will give a presentation on open-access data on wildlife mortality related to energy and transport infrastructures.
